Excellent, versatile bench with multiple attachments. Well worth the price. Plus made in the USA!
I purchased this bench for my home gym. I am limited on space and it was a great enhancement for my Tonal smart cable system as now I can several additional exercises that I wouldn't be able to do with the flat bench which came with it. For instance, I can now do incline presses, preacher curls and chest-supported cable rows with my Tonal cables. This has been a great way to get additional volume later in the day to supplement my "work" gym sessions.
I came to owning the original Prime Fitness Adjustable Bench upon buying and trying just about every other manufacturer’s adjustable bench out there. I didn’t find anything as comfortable or as easy to move around as Prime’s. Once the shorty bench became available it made sense to upgrade so that I could take advantage of its ability to also be used both as a utility bench and as a preacher curl. I use both added functions multiple times per week and was able to let my stand alone preacher curl machine go allowing for more space to open up in my gym.
The only tradeoff I’ve found is that the bench pad is narrower, softer, and smoother in comparison to others that might be better suited for powerlifting. Also, the bench currently is not sold with a stand to be stored upright but I found that aftermarket stands are available and the bench is easy to move if someone decides not to go that route.
Now that the Prime Smart Arm is coming out to work in conjunction with the shorty bench I can’t imagine a better home gym eco system out there. It really is high end commercial gym equipment designed specifically for home gym users.

This bench is perfect for my home gym. Removing the head pad opens up/improves so many exercises (French press, shoulder presses, chest supported back movements). The preacher curl attachment is the perfect preacher curl. Wall storage is ace. Love this bench.
The shorty bench works well for training plans for myself and others in a home/neighborhood gym setting. This bench works fantastic for movements where inclined/declined angles are key (my clients and I have used it successfully for at least a dozen different movements for upper body and core training). Also, the narrow width is a boon for exercises where one benefits from more range of motion (e.g. scapular) or facing against the bench (i.e. narrow width plus the adjustable length to keep from smashing your face against the bench).
The bench is high quality, easy to adjust, easy to assemble, easy to move, and ordering and delivery were on point. In addition, the attachment mechanism and attachment options are well engineered, sturdy in use, and efficient for change over. I currently have the decline and preacher attachments and they are fantastic, and I look forward to new options that may become available.
Overall, this is the best adjustable home gym bench for the needs of my clients and self. I recommend one think about their specific training needs and home gym prior to purchase. I read complaints from those looking for a wide flat bench, and that is understandable if one is focused on powerlifting flat bench press. However, I have a flat bench for that purpose and it will not support a variety of other important movements that are enabled by the Prime Fitness shorty bench.
