I started building a home gym during lockdown and went through about a half dozen racks over the course of three years. I was continually searching for the rack that could do the most things without sacrificing the quality of each individual thing that it could do. I was intimidated by Prime’s price tag but chose to go all in once I saw all the versatility it could provide in one single unit.
Other brands offered an integrated cable system but Prime was different in that they had a real seat for lat pulldowns and a real footplate for cable rows just like the machines I used at commercial gyms. Coach Kass from N1 also turned me on to the fact that Prime’s plate loaded option offered the ability to switch the cable ratio from 2:1 to 4:1 which is very useful for doing some exercises where you need more cable length or a lighter load than what is typically found on a pin loaded weight stack. That and the fact that a plate loaded model was much easier to move around a home gym is what sold me on the HLP.
I’ve had the Prodigy rack for over two years now and it’s the only piece I’m confident that I’ll probably have forever. It’s also been awesome how Prime continues to build off the platform, coming out with new rack attachments on the regular. The latest attachments, to include the stability pad and the smart arm, have launched Prime way ahead of their competitors. The HLP rack now has the highest end eco system on the market.

It's been a few months since I have received my plate loaded prodigy rack and I can say in all honesty, that I am so happy with my purchase. There are a lot of players in this space but none (in my opinion) have the ecosystem that Prime Fitness has. Sure Rep/Rogue etc. have fantastic racks and offer many great products, but do they have a leg press, leg extension, hack squat machine, etc. all specifically for a home gym enthusiast? The answer is no. It's because of this that I went with Prime Fitness and could not be more satisfied not only with the functionality, but the quality of their products. Every attachment, machine, etc is insane quality and super durable.
While I love my rack and everything that I have bought from Prime Fitness,, they do have a few things to work on. For instance, once you pay for the rack, each rack is individually manufactured after the day of purchase so it does take a considerable amount of time to receive your machine. From an accounting standpoint I understand why this is beneficial, but from a customer stand point, it does suck to wait over a month to get your rack, especially when you pay so much for it. That said, when you receive it, it's shipment packaging is bar none the most thought of I have ever received. They make it so its super easy for you to assemble.
In addition, the shipment cost is brutal. I am sure the shipping price is left out because they ship across the US and only have so many orders, but the addition of $1K in shipping was nearly a deal breaker for me. I would try to find a way to cut the shipping price because if their competitors can do it, I am sure there is a way they can too.
Besides those two things I am incredibly happy with my purchase and can't wait to continue to add more prime fitness machines into my home gym.
